Mysore. Mysore

Hey there,

I could not get to a computer for a longer time untill now. So I will tell you about my weekend now. Last weekend I went to Mysore which is in 3 hours down the south-west of Bangalore. A Swiss guy, I know from work, took me to the bus station in the morning. On the way he told me that he is going to a hindi temple. He is going there nearly every weekend because he says it is a really powerfull place. It sounded interessting and so I decided to join him. You won't get this when I try to explain it to you here so I will just say that it was a very interesting experience.

After that then I took the bus to Mysore. I met a German guy there, called David. We walked through Mysore visited the Maharaja Palace, which is a huge building in the heart of Mysore and really beautiful. Then again we met two girls from the US and we had some early dinner. Unfortunately David went on to Bangalore the same evening. Actually this was my luck, because I tried to get a room earlier that day but everything was full. Hence, I overtook his room :)

I then went to a hill station from where you have a beautiful view over the whole town. I watched the sunset and it was really a relaxed atmosphere. Back in Mysore I went to the Palace again which was enlighted now with over 97000 lights. I sat down with some Indian students and enjoyed the night.

The next day I caught the bus to the countryside to see a Bird Garden everyone told me the day before. The Bus dropped me out in the middle of nowhere and there was just a little sign telling the way. I followed it and found it and really it was a cool place. I even saw a crocodile :) After that I walked around the countryside which was really nice. The people there didn't want to sell you something all the time and I felt so confortable again having no hurry. I finally jumped on a bus which came down the road and got back to Mysore. There then I visited a fruit&vegetable market which is very famous and headded back to Bangalore.

I am sorry for my writing this time but I really wrote this in a hurry, because we have a meeting in a few minutes. By the way, I am in Delhi again for some meetings. Yesterday I had a seven hours meeting :) It was interesting though and last night I went to a little house party with the guy I met in Nainital. It was a fun night and Indian beer really is not good for your head the day after :) Tonight there might be an other party so I won't get much sleep, as my plain leaves tomorrow to Bangalore again.

So far take care and stuff

"Have some more!"

Gruess Gott,

Yesterday me and two colleagues were invited by an other Indian college. If you will ever get an invitation from an Indian I advise you not to eat anything before that for 4 days!

We started off with some Scotch Whiskey and after half an hour there was some fish coming. The Fish was very spicy but also very tasty. After we finished that there was an other fish coming. After four fish I was totally full :). We had some more Whiskeys and beers and after a while a big chicken was served. Ok, after that I was definitely full.
Then the host said:"When do you guys want to have dinner?" Dinner? Yep, there was still the main course coming :) So we sat down at the table and had dinner. It tried everything they served though and it was delicious, but also I had to fight with every bite :)

Finally we finished and I was as full as I was never before. It was really a fun night and I got invited again to learn how to bake Indian bread. I am really looking forward to that!

So I will see now where to go this weekend. There is a climbing competition here in Bangalore so maybe I will stay. Next week I am going to fly to Delhi again for some meetings.

have a nice life

Where is Waldo?

how's everyone?

Again it is Monday and another week passed. Time begins to run faster over here for me. Unfortunately I did not went away from Bangalore over the weekend, because it was a little bit of work to do on Saturday and I had not the time to prepare myself where to go. Well, it was not too bad, because I had a cool time here in Bangalore.

On Saturday I worked for two hours and then I went to find that huge climbing wall in the heart of the city. It was easy to find and I also find someone there who had some ropes. As I am always on my own, I have to find at least one person with a rope :) His name was Mani. Alas, he was to leight for me and I just could go for some Top-rope routes. When the power in my arms was gone I went to explore Bangalore.

I had a look at some sights and went to the City Market. This was amazing. I have never seen something similar in my life. Imagine the Esse-gasstaion in times of the WorldCup. Now multiply that by 20. I just stood there for half an hour gazing. There was always something new to see.

After that I went to Coppun Park which often is compared to Central Park in New York. I have never been there in New York, but this is what I would imagine it. It was really beautiful. I tried to lay down for a couple of minutes but there came always someone along to have a talk with me. Suddenly it started to rain like hell and I ran for some shelter. I found a cool place where some Indians where doing the same and it was really funny with them. when it stopped raining we where caught on an Island :)

On Sunday I went climbing again :)
Thats pretty much it. This week me and a few of my colleges are invited to a dinner. Hopefully I can go for a trip next weekend.

see ya

P.S.: When I stood at the City Market I had to think of "Where is Waldo" :) And guess what I saw in this Moment. Here are two "Where is Waldo- Realtime" for you:

trees at 3000m ?

Namaste,

I just arrived one hour ago from my trip. I tell you I am fuc.... tired but it was an awesome time!

I left Delhi on Friday night by bus to Nainital which is located in the north of Delhi just a few kilometers away from the Nepalese border. I was not really a comfortable drive and it took ten hours until I finally arrived there.
On the bus I met a Belgian Guy, called Gill. We decided to look for a place to stay together. So walked through the village and finally found a nice place. After that we went to the center, watched a cricket matc
h and had a little lunch. For the afternoon we wanted to go to Snow view which is a mountain there about 2270 meters. But first Gill wanted to sleep for a couple of hours because he sat the whole bus drive on the floor and could not get any sleep at all.

During that time I walked around the huge lake there and it was such a nice view. I went to a Hindu temple and was invited to a Hindu celebration. This was quite interesting and the only guy who could speak some English explained everything to me.

After that I tried to find someone who knows if and where to climb. I actually find someone, called Harry (it was his nickname). He said he would go climbing with me the next day. Awesome!

So finally at one o'clock Gill and me started our little climb. It was quite a walk and when we finally arrived on the top I was a little bit disappointed, because you could not see any snow on the mountains. It was a bit cloudy and there were trees everywhere. We were above 2000 meters and still there were so many trees!
Then someone told us, that there is an other mountain which is called Naina peak which is about 2611 meters high. So we decided to go there, too. I was really exhausted when I reached the top and still there were trees! But this time you could see the Nanda Devi for a short time, because the clouds opened up for a while. My firs
t Mountain over 7000 meters!

When we reached Nainital again we had a huge dinner and went to sleep after a while. It felt really good to meet somebody my age and we had so much fun.

The next day I went to Harry and he and a friend of him took me to a climbing resort. When we arrived I felt my heart beating faster :) They had a big artificial climbing wall, also rocks and boulder blocks. Most of you would not understand what I am talking about when I explained everything from
that day. So to make it short: I climbed the whole day till my hands bleeded. The best thing at all was that I did not felt like a tourist. In the afternoon it started to rain and we chilled in their little barrack had some snacks and talked about climbing.
After that we went to Nainital again and Harry invited me to have dinner with him. I tried to pay for that but he would not let me. We also had the typical Himalaya tea (they just put the tea in milk).

So I met Gill again at seven o'clock and we took the bus to Delhi again. It was an awesome weekend and I so enjoyed it to care about nothing and have nothing important to think about.

So, that’s it so far. I am still leaving for Bangalore on Wednesday and Harry gave me the number of a friend of him there with who I probably can go climbing again.

Take care

Thats the way aha aha I like it

Hey people,

Just got back from my weekend trip. It was awsome and I felt so good being on my own again travelling.
I went to Agra and Jaip

ur this weekend. Saturday morning I took the bus to Agra which took about six hours to get there. On my way I met two female flight attendants from Quatar airways. They were joining a kind of tour and went back to Delhi on the same day. I decided to join them just for the Agra sights, because it was a little bit cheaper this way. When we arrived in Agra we first went to Agra Fort which is a kind of castle where all the Indian Maharaja lived. That was very interesting and you got an idea how they must had lived there back in the days.

Next thing we did was the Taj Mahal. One of the seven world wonders you might know. And it was really incredible. I have never seen such an amazing building. The third Maharaja built it for his wife. That man used to know how to deal with women, I guess :)

After that I split from the tour to go on my own again. I sneaked around Agra for a couple of hours trying to find the Bus stop to get to Jaipur.

On my way to Jaipur I met an Indian guy with who I talked nearly the whole 5 hours drive. He runs a Hotel in Agra and knows everything of the bible although he is a hindu. It was very interesting and he tought me a little hindi.

I reached Jaipur at one o'clock in the night and it took me an other hour to find a place to stay for the night (there I saw my first roach by the way). On the next day I went to some sights and enjoyed the chaotic way the people live there. This city is the most crowded city I have ever seen.
An Indian guy asked me if I could help him earn some money. All I had to do was to go to some certain shops to have a talk with the people there. He would get some money then from the shops because he brought me there. I had nothing to do so I agreed. The people in the shops were really nice and knew that I would not buy anything. The yinvited me for some drinks and I talked with them for hours. That was an awsome experience.

At six o'clock then I caught a bus back to Delhi. When I arrived in Delhi I had not the slightest idea where I was and where my appartement was (To get an adress here is very hard). The next Problem was, that I had not enough money left to pay the taxi driver. Anyways I made it somehow and now I am back at the office.

Unfortunately I can not upload any pictures today because the battery of my camera is empty. Maybe tomorrow

That's it.

Namaskar
